What would I use to create a wireless signal from a computer already hooked up to a network?

I am in a large networked house and the wireless router is downstairs and some distance away. Where I am there is no wireless signal, but my desktop is on the network (wired). Is there a device I can plug into my desktop and use it to add a wireless signal from my computer? I know a wireless router would do it, but will that interfere with the router already on the network?

You can add a Wireless Access Point at your end of the wired connection. Plug your computer into the access point and you would have wireless also. Or make your computer wireless also.

A second wireless signal will not interfere with the existing one.

Its actually fairly simple, just watch this video on youtube, and it will get you set up!
