Is this camera weatherproof?
Nice Video! I am thinking of getting several of these for our condo community. I can’t seem to locate any wall mounting brackets online. Any leads?
@kendpw IE has always been a nightmare for developers. Just roll back to 7 or use Firefox. Wouldn’t that be easier/cheaper/less stressful than trying a class action lawsuit? You are the epitome of sue-culture.
@MyHomeServerdotcom nice review, any change you could link to some JPGs caputured by the device?
One of the only video reviews that show the image the camera captures. Very nice. But I have to agree with others that the music in the back ground is a Major rookie no no.
Does it work with WEP and WPA encryption?
@kendpw , wow, good luck with that, I have 6 of those cams and they all work great, plus I didn’t pay anything near $115 for them, you got screwed.
im out 115 bucks myself after purchasing a wireless g internet camera that cant be picked up over the internet, even after consulting with linksys reps 5 times, they blame on explorer8, because the camera works fine, im looking into a class action suit on this now
Wow, the pan and tilt sucks…looks like it take a lot of effort just to turn the thing through the GUI interface. Do you have to click each time to move it a fraction or can you hold down the button? Looks like it’s herky-jerky movement and not very smooth too…$300 bucks? wow
i got this camera but I don’t see the same interface with audio and zoom controls when viewing the video. Do I need to upgrade software or something?
Impossible to watch with the crazy background music. I lasted for 30 seconds.
It’s wireless. Especially if you already have one of the Linksys routers, it does NOT require a PC to operate.
its require an attached PC or wireless to router and internet directly ?
This is a really good video. I enjoyed it. if you need more exposure for your videos check out t u b e v i e w s ( d o t m o b i ) Keep up the good videos and continue to make fresh content.
Neat Vid….
I do actually think this is more like a commercial than a review;) BUT, still it gives some good info, and I bought it.
Hey TC, you can use the software that comes with the cam to record. Not sure about recording remotely, but it should work as long as you have Dynamic DNS (or a static WAN IP) and setup the software with the domain names, not IP’s
Can you record with this camera on your pc? Can you record remotely with this camera?
Very nice review and explanation of the features.
Thanks
TC
Thanks, I remember seeing a small selfpowered speaker that plugs into the 1.8″ jack of an ipod that would be perfect for something like this.
I just went out and bought the camera after reading your article. I’m going to try and mess with port forwarding tonight on my Linksys RVS4000 but I will most likely need to wait on your next part of the review!
Thanks for the comments, please rate the video 5 stars if you like the review. As far as the speaker, there is no internal speaker, just an internal mic. There are 1/8″ mini jacks on the bottom, so you could plug in a set of powered PC speakers, or if it was outside you could maybe get a powered intercom speaker. The internal mic works fine but it does have the option for an external mic too.
Awesome review. Does this camera have an internal speaker, or is the only way to get the 2-way communication by adding an external speaker?
sorry for the background music, thought it was low enough to hear me speak. I’ll take this into consideration when making my next video, thanks for your comments!
Was there some reason for the music in the background? It made it hard to hear you speak.
We hope you like this review, our first on youtube. We will soon be uploading another indepth review on using this camera and the Mobile Video option so you can watch live video from the camera on your cell phone! Stay tuned
