snow patrol are no where as good as bf5. they were truly something

@iceman120789 snow patrol is no comparison to Ben Folds

@KCtranceDJ it messes with my mind.. thats nuts

yeah even if its cut time the tempo slows each time coming out of the verse and going into the chorus. it’s deliberate. nice touch in my opinion.

This and Kate are my two favourite Ben Folds Five songs, if not two of my favourite songs by any artist… and I love this live version, you totally get the double bass coming out. It takes me right back to the late 90s, lovely!

Powerful song about his relationship and his gf having an abortion and him not wanting her to…She’s a brick and I’m drowning slowly.

maybe its by accident, but the tempo really changes – from about 100 to 95 – but the feeling changes too, because the driving rhythm of the snaredrum in the verse turns into a rather retarding rhythm.

or at least you can count it like that.

the song is in cut time. the tempo doesnt change but the feel does.

Shuck, I must be deaf xD

yeah thats such an obvious tempo change

yes it does, during the chorus it does.. it’s strange, but cool I guess

errrr, the song is about a relationship and an abortion.

the tempo doesn’t change, listen carefully

i dont understand what sad thing happend???

so sad,it happened to me

It is sad, i’ve been there..

I love this song. I remember hearing it years ago not knowing who sung it or what it was called.

It’s so sad but beautiful at the same time

this is really sad :(

It’s actually that rare, that the tempo is changed just a bit, it’s gives a good variation, and it works great in this song i think! :)
Great song! Great Original song writing!

for eal. i mean theres no dumb questions but cmon

yehh i know that it was planned but like, its weird.. ive never seen a band just change tempo like that for a chorus and thenchange back for the verses. the first time it happened i was like “HUH?! they all just went totally out of time!!” haha

I think that’s planned though- I know that guys I’ve played for have given tempo directions. Lets the melody in the chorus speak a bit more?

they kept changing tempo during the chorus from the verses :S
still an amazing song, one of my favourites, so damn sad :(

it’s a great great great great song
